Business AI Safety Checklist
Version 1.0, July 2026 · Guide: Business AI Safety
External tool features, policies, pricing, and availability may change.
The six rules
- Never put private customer, financial, or employee data into public tools. If you wouldn't post it on the company bulletin board, don't paste it.
- AI is not your lawyer, accountant, or doctor. It organizes and explains. Professionals decide.
- Verify every number, fact, and citation you plan to rely on.
- Read the tone before anything reaches a customer.
- High-impact decisions get a human signature. If it can cost money or trust, a person signs.
- Prefer team or business accounts over personal ones.
By department
Sales: No customer lists or contract terms in public tools; a person checks pricing and promises before any quote or reply goes out.
Admin: Strip personal details before summarizing; verify names, dates, and figures in every document before filing or sending.
Finance: No account numbers, margins, or pay data in public tools; AI never makes a tax or accounting decision a professional should.
Operations: Each AI-assisted step has one named owner and a review gate; high-impact changes get a human signature.
